The primary responsibilities will encompass a comprehensive set of tasks including bookkeeping, cash flow management, budgeting, VAT, management accounting, and payroll. This knowledge will enable the candidate to oversee team activities and provide client support as needed. The role will involve direct supervision, which will encompass advanced preparatory work, reviews, and individual training.

About the Role

The Outsourcing Finance Manager will assume the responsibility of overseeing and managing the outsourcing department and its team members. This entails ensuring the accurate and timely execution of all outsourced accounting functions. The position includes leadership and accountability for delivering services to clients, with a focus on improving and nurturing client relationships. Furthermore, this role offers the manager the chance to actively participate in business development endeavors, involving attendance at scoping and pitch meetings alongside Partners, as well as support for the onboarding of new clients.

Responsibilities of the Role

  • Supervise a client portfolio, delegating tasks to team members.
  • Proficiently analyze debtor and creditor reports.
  • Effectively handle invoice processing and payments on behalf of clients.
  • Collaborate with clients to establish timelines for receiving information necessary for bookkeeping and VAT return completion.
  • Deliver high-quality management accounts and VAT returns.
  • Review bookkeeping, VAT returns, management accounts, and quarterly working papers from team members, offering constructive feedback for improvement.
  • Ensure that working papers prepared for the accounts teams meet high standards.
  • Collaborate with the Payroll Manager to ensure top-notch payroll service delivery.
  • Maintain effective communication with other departments in the firm regarding accounts preparation, corporation tax, and personal tax.
  • Conduct quarterly one-on-one reviews with team members to track goal achievement and mutual expectations.
  • Coordinate with the HR Manager and Partners for performance reviews.
  • Review and verify weekly timesheets completed by the team, ensuring consistency in time allocation to clients and non-chargeable assignments, including posting time to the correct financial year for each client.
  • Update monthly budgets to align with the firm's growth objectives.
  • Partner with the Partners to expand business engagements by offering additional services to existing clients and attracting new business.
  • Provide quotes for potential clients or partners for our customized services, considering team members involved, charge-out rates, and the scope of services provided.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with colleagues and clients, demonstrating a high level of autonomy and responsibility.
  • Collaborate with other managers to oversee the team and assist with training when needed.

Requirements of the Role

  • Possess an ACCA/ACA qualification as a mandatory requirement.
  • Demonstrate robust interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
  • Exhibit effective communication with various stakeholders, including team members, managers, partners, and clients.
  • Showcase a willingness to collaborate with the team and clients to integrate environmental reporting into their operations.
  • Capability to manage the team's workload.
  • Stay up to date with evolving VAT and accounting knowledge.
  • Ability to maintain client records in a timely and up-to-date manner.
