About the Role:

The ideal personal tax senior candidate will be ATT qualified and ideally also CTA qualified. You will be working in the tax department, and this encompasses personal, corporation, indirect and investigations. You will be reporting to partners and managers, who will review all work that has been signed off on and address any issues. The client base includes non-doms, HNWIs and OMBs, and you will be overseeing a portfolio of personal tax clients in a hands-on compliance capacity as well as for ad-hoc advisory reasons.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out technical research into several areas including trusts, inheritance tax and capital gains tax
  • Help out with consultancy projects, including letter/report writing, and meeting with clients
  • Find opportunities for the firm to further develop
  • Oversee WIP and increase bills in time
  • Communicate with HMRC on behalf of clients
  • Use CCH to plan and produce complex tax returns
  • Acquire tax return information from client/audit team

 

Requirements:

  • Qualified in ATT, and ideally also CTA
  • A minimum of 2 years’ tax cycle seasons
  • Possess practical/technical knowledge of personal tax
  • Good IT skills
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills
  • Understanding of CCH personal tax
  • Some experience in client facing roles
  • Confidence when communicating with stakeholders
  • Has undertaken continuous CPD ideally
  • Is proactive and analytical
