About the Role:

The firm is looking for a personal tax manager for the tax department, which can be an exciting and challenging role for those wishing to take the step up into management. The role will involve being responsible for a diverse client portfolio, managing complex and ad hoc advisory work. The ideal client will have considerable OMB and private client experience and be a confident communicator in order to form strong working relationships with stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the work of team members
  • Carry out technical research
  • Identify tax planning opportunities for clients and the department
  • Supervise WIP and increase bills
  • Work with HMRC on the behalf of clients, including tax return enquiries
  • Plan and create tax returns and associated tax computations
  • Oversee tax return information, on an internal basis and for clients
  • Management of the department’s compliance
  • Head a small team

 

Requirements:

  • Be CTA qualified, with a year or more of post-tax qualification experience ideal
  • Good report and letter writing skills
  • Experience with tax return software is preferred, especially CCH
