The firm itself deals with numerous sectors, which includes manufacturing, pharmaceutical and commercial property.  Furthermore, the clients within these sectors range from sole traders to multi-million-pound international groups, which allow for engaging and diverse work for staff.

About the Role:

The firm is seeking either a manager or assistant manager who is aiming to grow and take the next step in their career. The chosen individual will be working in tandem with the corporate tax partner and will have strong technical experience as well as impeccable people skills. The role will help improve upon these previous skills and involve working in compliance and advisory matters with regards to corporate tax.

Responsibilities:

  • Offer tax coaching to other audit and junior members of the team
  • Oversee WIP and increase bills when needed
  • Make sure the team/individual budgets are achieved, including performance objectives
  • Undertake technical research
  • Go to client meetings and events
  • Aid with HMRC enquiries
  • Find new ways to maximize the client relationship and add value when possible
  • Evaluate the tax computations for the audit department
  • Oversee the compliance process
  • Work in tandem with partners to conduct advisory assignments
  • Manage a client portfolio and help identify opportunities for clients

 

Requirements:

  • Qualified in either ACA, ACCA, CA, or CTA, with significant experience in the tax department
  • Strong computer/IT Skills
  • Evidence of mentoring more junior staff and offering training
  • Good problem solving and decision making
  • Ideally strong knowledge of Alphatax
  • Able to think strategically regarding client relationships and needs
  • Proactively identify potential opportunities
  • Understanding of structuring matters including share exchanges
