About the Role:

The firm is looking for an audit manager, who will be reporting to the Audit Partner. The role will involve both the planning and overseeing of audit assignments through to completion, as well as tailoring programmes to meet client’s business needs. You will also be accountable for the leading, management, development and coaching of a highly effective audit team. Moreover, the role will involve development of the firm as a whole and working with support teams to enhance working processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Work in tandem with the partner in order to plan and conduct audit assignments, while also evaluating findings, potential risks, and solutions
  • Work with the HR, IT and Marketing departments to assess and enhance working processes
  • Help develop the business by identifying and acquiring clients
  • Find ways to improve client relationships and add further value
  • Manage the team/individual budgets as well as performance objectives
  • Ensure a high professional and technical standard is maintained at all times
  • Deal with issues timely and avoid future occurrences
  • Ensure audit programmes are well suited to client’s business environments
  • Supervise and monitor the successful completion of audit assignments
  • Oversee and manage the audit team, reviewing all work and ensuring it is in line with professional standards

 

Requirements:

  • Qualified in either ACA or ACCA, with some external auditing experience
  • Experience with leading/managing an audit team
  • Demonstrable qualities in line with leading, developing and motivating a team
  • Good understanding of systems/risk-based auditing
  • A good track record of developing businesses
  • Able to build a rapport with employees and clients
  • Personable and approachable personality
  • Ideally some understanding of Alphatax, QuickBooks, CaseWare, CCH, Xero, and Sage
  • Knowledge of HAT audit methodology would be desired
